Calling all singers and beatboxers! This fall Effusion will be holding auditions for new members and you’re invited!
All McGill students, newly accepted or already enrolled, are welcome. There is no experience necessary, whether you’re a natural stage performer or you only sing in the shower. If you love to sing and you want to be a part of an amazing group of fun and friendly individuals, we encourage you to try out this fall.
Stay tuned for further details. For questions, please email info.effusion@gmail.com
A huge thank you to Urban Groove for having us at their year end show! It was amazing and we’re thrilled to have been apart of it! Also, congratulations to the senior girls graduating for the dance group.. I broke out in a sweat watching your sexy final dance number!
Here we are performing Mercy at the Urban Groove show:

On Friday evening, Effusion performed for the girls and boys dining at the new RVC Residence Hall cafeteria and WOW.. It definitely made some of us wish we were back in rez. Thanks so much to Monique Lauzon for having us!

Effusion has been working it out on the street recently to raise money for our summer tour to the West Coast. While it’s been chilly and harsh, we’ve had some pretty hilarious encounters that have made it all worth it! One Sunday, for example, a fellow a cappella group happened upon our little street performance and ended up joining us.
Watch below as we and University of Albany’s Earth Tones magically discover that we both sing arrangements of White Winter Hymnal by The Fleet Foxes!

Back in the November, TV McGill dropped in to watch us rehearse for our Fall ‘09 Concert. Finally up on their website is the behind-the-scenes footage of us preparing for the show! Aside from some lovely music, look for a couple of moderately embarrassing interviews and some seriously physical singing. Check it out on their website: TV McGill: Effusion

Another flashback! This time, to when it was sunny and warm and gorgeous out in Montreal. Yes… We’ve been missing last summer and wishing for next summer so we thought it would be very appropriate to dig out of the closet a picture from Discover McGill 09!
There is always a smaller group of us (usually including some very dedicated alumni). This year the group was Kelsea, Susie, Hannah, Aidan, James, Joseph, Andrew, Mike, and Glynn. Here we are dong our thing for a sea of freshmen:

It was a crazy, canadian-pride filled, amazing moment! Especially standing beside our sistas and brothas from anotha motha, Soulstice.

Even though it has already been two weeks since our Fall Concert at Just for Laughs Studio, we’re still riding that great feeling after putting on a great show. We have all of our friends and family to thank for making the night so amazing!
Here are a few pictures to look back on the show:
